Prayers of the people for the Rector Search

Leader: Atonement, let us pray as we gather as one body united in our purpose to discern God's revelation of our new Rector.

All: Almighty God, we thank you for the Recto who you are preparing to send to us. We thank you for the eight members of our Rector Search Committee who have been installed and pledged to be guided in their work by your divine counsel.

Bless us as we join together in one accord with your favor and grace as we walk confidently in the light of Jesus. Help our congregation and vestry to remain focused on you and your divine purposes as we undertake and engage in the search processes.

Grant us the wisdom to surrender any selfish individual preferences, biases, and agendas that we may possess to the infallibility of your will in the pursuit of your anointed selectee. Please remove all divisive thoughts, inclinations, and actions from within our membership and open our hearts and our minds to extend the love that we receive from you to each other and to the greater community.

Thank you, our most wonderful God, for the light of your divine countenance.

In the precious name of Jesus, our Savior, Redeemer , and Advocate, we humbly pray.

Amen
